Fabric choice/yardage

All flowy fabrics: silk, viscose, polyester, crepe, twill, satin…
Length: with 60’’ (150cm) wide fabrics, you will need 2.8 yards (2.5 meters) up to size 8. Above size 8, either you will need 3.6 yards (3.3m) and will have to unfold part of the fabric to cut pieces, as front skirt piece is very wide. Or you can cut that piece on the fold, thus removing the center seam allowance (the center seam is decorative only).

You will need

1.10 yard (1m) of 44’’ – 45’’ (115cm) wide lining (or you can use the same fabric as your dress if you have enough of it. That would be a good choice for this flowy fabric as it will ensure a good drape on the bust gathers). A 40cm invisible zipper. You will also need some strips of interfacing or organza to stabilize seams that are on the bias, to prevent any stretching (or you can buy iron-on stabilizing tape).
